The sustainability regulatory landscape continues to evolve rapidly — and shows no signs of slowing down. Since our last Policy spotlight in September 2023, in-progress regulations have been finalized and new proposals have emerged, impacting all stages of the fashion and apparel value chain. For this quarterly briefing, we met with policy experts from Fashion Conveners’ member organizations to unpack the latest developments and shed light on what brands can do now to prepare.


  • Aii PUBLISHES ITS ANNUAL ROADMAP TO NET ZERO REPORT UPDATE. In 2021, Aii and the World Resources Institute published the first edition of this report, evaluating the apparel industry’s emissions and calling for system-wide, collective action. Aii has committed to refreshing this analysis annually using the best available data and is pleased to share Taking Stock of Progress Against the Roadmap to Net Zero (2024).

  • CASCALE ANNOUNCES A NEW CEO. Cascale (formerly Sustainable Apparel Coalition) proudly appointed Colin Browne as its Chief Executive Officer. Browne brings a wealth of global experience in supply chains and both brand and factory management, leading Cascale into a new era of proactive and impactful sustainability practices.


SEPTEMBER 9-11: CASCALE ANNUAL MEETING. Designed exclusively for the Cascale community, this event is an opportunity for more than 600 attendees from across the globe to connect around “a new era of unified impact”. (Munich + Virtual)

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 25: ZDHC REGIONAL CONFERENCE – SOUTH ASIA. Final dates are still being confirmed; more details to come.

WEEK OF OCTOBER 14: ZDHC REGIONAL CONFERENCE – TÜRKIYE. Final dates are still being confirmed; more details to come.

OCTOBER 28-31: 2024 TEXTILE EXCHANGE CONFERENCE. The annual Textile Exchange Conference is a space for leaders and experts from across the global fashion, textile and apparel industry to collaboratively explore challenges and solutions to overcome the climate crisis. (Los Angeles + Virtual)

JOIN Aii FOR ITS Q3 ENGAGEMENT DAYS FROM JULY 8-10. To better serve and connect with its global stakeholders, Aii is hosting engagement days over a 2–3 day period each quarter, making several informative webinars publicly available. This quarter’s theme is “Innovation, Implementation and Tracking.” Registration information will be available on Aii’s LinkedIn and Instagram accounts, and recordings of previous sessions are available on YouTube.
